Zoo Announces Nomination for Best Zoo in the Nation. Again.

Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium has once again been nominated for USA TODAY’s 10Best Readers' Choice Awards, this year in four categories– Best Zoo, Best Zoo Exhibit for the Desert Dome, Best Safari Park for Lee G. Simmons Wildlife Safari Park and, new this year, Best Zoo Membership. The 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards encourage fans to “voice their choice” and recognize the best of the best across various industries and categories.

Following its big wins in 2023 and 2024, the Zoo urges its members, guests and community to cast votes daily to secure the Zoo’s standing as number one in the nation for the third year in a row. Each person can vote once per day, per device, in all four categories until voting concludes on Monday, March 10.

“This award is more than just an accolade, it’s a testament to the support of our community,” said Megan Longo, senior vice president of guest experience, brand and revenue at Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium. “This accomplishment not only reflects our standing as a top zoo, but encourages vital tourism, brings top talent to live and work in our city and, ultimately, pride to our Omaha community.”

“Our people and our community are what make us great, and our people and our community are going to be what makes it possible for us to achieve this incredible accomplishment for the third year in a row.”

To vote, visit OmahaZoo.com/10Best through Monday, March 10. The top 10 zoos, zoo exhibits, zoo memberships and wildlife safari parks with the most votes will be announced on the USA TODAY’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards website on Wednesday, March 19.
