Community Support

Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium, a non-profit organization, prides itself on its contributions to the surrounding communities. In an effort to give back, the Zoo is willing to consider requests from the local community. With multiple philanthropic commitments and limited charitable resources, we will do what we can to satisfy all requests.

Donations

Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium is proud to support organizations that strengthen our community and align with our mission.

Eligibility Guidelines

  • Fundraisers must take place in Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, or South Dakota
  • Donations must be used to directly raise funds
  • Requests must be submitted 3 weeks to 3 months before the event
  • Limit one donation per organization per year

What We Provide

Approved requests receive a family four-pack of daytime Zoo admission tickets.
We do not donate memberships, gift cards, special event tickets, or Wildlife Safari Park tickets.

Examples of Requests We May Support

  • School, music, sports, and church fundraisers
  • Animal-related events
  • Community programs (summer reading library programs, hospitals, fire/EMT departments)
  • Medical expense fundraisers
  • Registered nonprofit (501(c)(3)) fundraisers

Examples do not guarantee approval.

We Are Unable to Support Requests For

  • Political fundraisers
  • Door prizes, giveaways, post-prom, or free raffles
  • Requests outside the eligible states
  • Requests submitted too early or too late
  • Multiple requests from the same organization in one year

All requests must be submitted through our online form.
We are unable to accept requests by email, mail, or phone.

Wish Requests

Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium has partnered with local wish granting organizations to accommodate individuals of all ages. If you or someone you know would like to request a special Zoo experience, please contact one of the following organizations directly:

Dreamweaver Foundation
Dreamweaver Foundation serves terminally ill seniors by providing them with an incredible experience.

Make-A-Wish Nebraska
Make-A-Wish grants the one true wish of children age 2½-18 diagnosed with a life-threatening illness. The Zoo works through this local chapter on the wishes of kids throughout the US.

Memories for Kids
Memories for Kids focuses on creating a memory for the children of a parent with stage IV or terminal cancer.

Special Pass Membership Program

The Special Pass Membership Program helps community-focused organizations enrich the lives of the people they serve through daytime access to Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium. Created to expand access for community members facing financial, physical, or other barriers, the program allows one group visit per day with free daytime Zoo admission for up to 10 clients of the organization. Up to 10 staff members may accompany the group at a discounted rate of $14 per person; additional attendees are welcomed at standard admission. Learn more about the program.
