A team of about 300 full-time and 650 part-time staff members strong, Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium benefits the lives of more than 1,415 species across 162 acres of land. Before applying for a position, please review the following requirements. Our candidates must meet these criteria to advance onto the next phase of the process.
Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium's hiring managers carefully screen each applicant based on the criteria and qualifications required for each position.
If an applicant has successfully passed the screening process, they will be invited to partake in an interview. Interviews will be done either in-person or via telephone.
Each candidate will complete an interview with a hiring manager regardless of the position's status (full-time or part-time). A human resources representative will also be present during interviews involving full-time position candidates.

If the applicant has accepted the offer for a full-time or part-time position, they will undergo one day of orientation, which will cover Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium's history, as well as the benefits they are entitled to. Additional training may be included once orientation is complete.
Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium is a multi-faceted operation and we try to develop job shadowing opportunities to encompass all aspects of the Zoo. We offer opportunities for students 11th grade and older.

Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium hosts a series of Community Volunteer Days throughout the year to provide individuals with opportunities to experience the inner workings of the Zoo alongside our staff. From crafting all-new enrichment items for our animals to trimming up browse for our herbivores to enjoy in the winter months, we can always use an extra hand.
