Zoo Welcomes Vice President of Guest Experience, Mandy Haase-Thomas

We are excited to welcome Mandy Haase-Thomas as the new Vice President of Guest Experience at Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium and Lee G. Simmons Wildlife Safari Park. A proven leader in organizational operations, Mandy brings nearly two decades of experience creating meaningful, engaging experiences for guests of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds.

Prior to joining the Zoo, Mandy served on the executive leadership team at Lincoln Children’s Museum, where she directed facilities, exhibits, education, marketing, membership, and visitor services, focusing on delivering joyful, impactful experiences that inspire learning through play.

Throughout her career, she has led visitor engagement strategies, earned revenue initiatives, and cross-functional teams at top Nebraska cultural institutions. Her work has been recognized by the Smithsonian Institution, the American Marketing Association, and the American Advertising Federation. She has presented nationally, taught at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, and contributed to major exhibit projects, including the award-winning “Cherish Nebraska” transformation at the University of Nebraska State Museum.

In her new role, Mandy will lead our Guest Experience team, ensuring every member and guest enjoys a seamless, engaging, and memorable visit. This leadership evolution underscores our commitment to exceptional service, operational excellence, and meaningful experiences that bring our mission to life.

“Mandy’s depth of experience, innovative mindset, and guest-first approach make her the right person for this role,” said Megan Longo, Chief Brand and Experience Officer. “We’re excited to see how her leadership will inspire our teams and further strengthen our commitment to delivering exceptional experiences for every guest.”

Outside of work, Haase-Thomas is a dedicated mom of three, an active Girl Scouts co-leader, and a passionate supporter of her alma mater, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Omaha’s Zoo & Aquarium is excited for the energy, insight, and heart she will bring to her new role and looks forward to the exceptional guest experiences she’ll help shape at the Zoo and Safari Park.
