Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium is approaching a moment of significant meaning this summer as it welcomes its one millionth visitor of the 2025 calendar year. This milestone is expected to happen between July 24–28 and serves as a powerful reflection of the joy shared by Zoo guests and the unwavering support of members, employees and the Omaha community.
To mark the occasion, the Zoo will host a series of surprise-and-delight moments for guests throughout the week. These unexpected experiences could include animal encounters, giveaways, free rides and attraction tickets and other one-in-a-million moments. While details are being kept under wraps, guests are encouraged to visit during this time for a chance to experience the excitement and share in the celebration.
“This isn’t just about one visitor,” said Megan Longo, chief brand and experience officer at Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium. “It’s about all the people who walk through our gates each year. Every child seeing an animal for the first time, every family building a tradition, every member who returns week after week – they’re all part of something bigger here.”
The celebration also includes a social giveaway campaign, inviting guests to share their favorite Zoo memories. Those who post on Instagram or Facebook using the hashtag #MyOmahaZoo and tagging Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium will be entered for a chance to win a free annual Zoo membership. Entries will be accepted through Sunday, July 27.
