Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium and Lee G. Simmons Wildlife Safari Park have once again earned top national recognition in the USA TODAY 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards, ranking #1 in all four categories in which we were nominated.
This continued recognition reflects the dedication of our team and the strong connection this community has with our Zoo and Safari Park.
This year’s honors include:
#1 Best Zoo – Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium (Fourth consecutive win)
#1 Best Zoo Membership – Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium (Second consecutive win)
#1 Best Zoo Exhibit – Desert Dome (Seventh consecutive win for Best Zoo Exhibit; third for Desert Dome
#1 Best Safari Park – Lee G. Simmons Wildlife Safari Park (Sixth consecutive win)
While the rankings are exciting, what they represent matters even more. They reflect the work that happens here every single day. The care given to the animals entrusted to us. The teams who welcome guests and help turn a visit into something families remember long after they leave. The creativity, teamwork, and dedication across our campuses that make this place so special to our community.
Our community also played an important role in this recognition.
Throughout the voting period, thousands of people took time to vote each day, encouraged friends and family to participate, and shared why these places matter.
That engagement helps extend the impact of our Zoo and Safari Park far beyond Omaha. It strengthens the work we do to care for wildlife and create experiences that inspire people of all ages.
