Zoo Receives Prestigious AZA Accreditation

Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium is proud to announce its continued accreditation from the Association of Zoos and Aquariums’ (AZA) independent Accreditation Commission. This accreditation means that the Zoo has met the rigorous standards of AZA and will continue to set a precedent for excellence in the zoological community. Zoo Announces Ghouls & Glow

Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium is excited to announce the return of Ghouls & Glow presented by Veridian Credit Union. Zoo Announces Return of Party for the Planet

Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium is celebrating Earth Day with an educational event hosted by the Zoo Academy high school students. Zoo Announces Name of Fifth Elephant Calf

Meet Hondo, the name of our newest African elephant calf. Pronounced “hon-doh,” the name as chosen by a Zoo donor and their family and in African countries, means “warrior” or “fighter.” Hondo, who is two weeks old today, now tips the scale at 248 pounds. Zoo Announces Fifth African Elephant Calf

Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium is thrilled to announce the birth of a male African elephant calf just before 9 a.m. on Sunday, February 18. The mother of the calf is 12-year-old Omma.  This is the fifth calf born at Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium, joining half-siblings: 2-year-olds Eugenia and Sonny, 1-year-old Mopani and 6-month-old Amandra.
